How to Cook Kare-Kare w/ Rice

This food is a Philippine stew. This can be made with a variety of vegetables, beef, oxtail, and chicken with peanut sauce.
This is often sprinkled with calamansi juice, sometime this is spiced with chili, or eaten with shrimp paste.
This is traditional in any fiesta in the Philippines.

Here are some cooking tips and recipe on how to cook Kare-kare.

Recipe: Kare-kare w/ rice.

Cooking temp.: boiling and saute, simmering.

Ingredients/Quantity


  • shrimp paste(bagoong)230g
  • sugar 125g
  • vinegar 1T
  • pork 1kg
  • pechay cut 240g
  • string beans 260g
  • eggplant cut 420g
  • banana blossom 290g
  • garlic 8g
  • onion 30g
  • oil 20g
  • peanut butter 700ml
  • knorr cube 20g
  • giniling n bigas 10g
  • rice 2g
method
saute the shrimp with garlic and add sugar and vinegar. simmer until cook. set aside.
boil the pork until tender. set aside.
prepare oil.heat.
saute the garlic,onion, and followed by eggplant, string beans, banana blossom and pechay.
dilute the knorr cube with broth of pork and add the pork to the sauted vegetables and dilute liquid.
add and simmer.serve with rice.
